That had little to do with tax rates during Clinton years and more to do with a revolution or explosion in technology that rivaled the industrial revolution. We have don't have that economy now.

You said you could easily go back to the Clinton era tax rates. Well I could too. If we went back to the Clinton era spending adjusted for inflation we would have a balanced budget. The Bush tax cut was scheduled to expire at the end of last year but Obama extended it. Why did he do that? Now there is almost no way he can increase taxes with this congress in place.
