Not even Democrats want to mention the word "taxes." They always have to hide behind the euphemism "revenue component." So what you do you have there, a gotcha? It's time to realize that both sides play with words and public opinion....SO WHAT? Let's not forget that Democrats don't want to let all of the Bush tax cuts expire. Just those for households making $250K or more. Again, SO WHAT? The only "victory" you can hope for is the wild hope that the Tea Party will implode and the context of the debate will dramatically shift left. Maybe then even Krugman will be a happy panda. That's a completely false argument...i am the first to recognize that the budget gaps need to be closed...but I also recognize that it can't be done with spending cuts alone....politically and tangibly.
