More interesting facts:

Since 1940 the federal debt ceiling has been raised 101 times.

(Reagan administration, and his Congresses, alone raised it something like a dozen times.)

Most interesting of all, (IMO), "debt ceiling" doesn't appropriate any money.

Congress' normal appropriations process (annual budgets and whatnot that authorize all new spending) is what does that.

US is the only nation on Earth that even has such a silly law... whose main purpose (it seems) is to merely give lying politicians yet another opportunity to lie to their voters about how 'big' they are for 'balanced budgets' and 'no deficits'.

LOL!
