Just caught the end of this- some wonk being interviewed by Scott Simon said "the reason the economy has slowed down is the government isn't spending as much.". He went on to opine that it is folly to be talking about spending cuts. It's a faith. Their faith is being tested and they are doubling down. Actually, to give NPR credit where due, I actually heard Rep. Jeff Sessions interviewed in a non-hostile fashion yesterday on All Things Considered. They didn't give him that much time, but it's rare to hear any conservative voice on NPR.
