So, a credit card company raising your credit limit allows you pay off the credit card debt you've already accumulated?

Really, what is the point in having a credit limit at all if running up more debt "allows" you to pay off what you already ran up before?

God, you people are nuts.

"Raising the debt ceiling allows us to pay the debt we have already accumulated."

Then we'll raise the limit higher and debt will get larger then we'll raise the limit higher and the debt will get larger then we'll raise the limit higher and the debt will get larger then we'll raise the limit higher and the debt will get larger then we'll raise the limit higher and the debt will get larger......starting to see a pattern there, Moonbean? No? Ok then we'll raise the limit higher and the debt will get larger.....still no sunlight on the problem?

Raising the debt ceiling allows us to pay the debt we have already accumulated.

Not an issue. Raise it or not and we can still make debt payments.
