Hi DX,

I've never shorted a stock before, but I have to agree 3COM looks like it might be a good candidate. The CEO said recently "the channel is chucked full of modems" and I believe him. As far as I can tell no OEM's are using x2 modems. Why should they when everybody and their brother is making k56flex modems and selling them for half the price of an x2 ? The retail channel is where x2 was strong before it had any competition, now they aren't selling and the channel is stuffed.

Lack of retail sales and no OEM sales will reduce demand for x2 ISP support and thus demand for COMS Total Control RAC's. I posted on this thread a couple of months ago a comparison between the COMS x2 and the Sony Betamax. Nobody understood what I was talking about. The ITU standard will eventually end the x2/k56flex war and both sides will prosper, but now that the tide has turned the longer the wait the better for ASND.

Good Luck,

Lee
