and wealth is not a requisite to steal anyway. the wealthy have to stop being punished for simply being wealthy, or we are all doomed eventually.

Compared with whom!! I bet that if you pulled the masses of the general public the general public would say that those making $250,000 annually would be wealthy. This would be especially true if the 250,000 is adjustable tax income.
