What would you do with the less affluent individuals who are retired on less than $1,000 per month, unemployed due no fault of their own, or do not have the employment technical skill sets to be employed in todays society?

so you think the answer IS socialism/communism?

Are we going to let them die on the streets?

the typical socialist argument. more will 'die on the streets' with socialism than ever would with capitalism.

What is the role of society to assist the poor and needy who legitimately are trying to find jobs to provide and income for their family?

use free market capitalism to produce many high paying jobs.

Technology has eliminated many of the jobs which were available for employment in the past.

i see you agree with the rickshaw president about ATMs taking bank teller jobs! automation and sophistication of labor is the REASON we have high paying jobs and leisure time to enjoy. unbridled socialism will soon be taking that away though. why don't we just go back to the caveman days? every caveman worked most of the day just to get enough food. the pay for a days work was food for a day or maybe a little more. or maybe a little less if they weren't lucky that day. but hey! everyone had a 'job' right?

A local mechanic at the Unilever plant locally indicated to me that there are only 3 mechanics do the current work which 10 years were performed by 14 mechanics.

so now 11 people can go out and do work that couldn't be done 10 years ago. that's what 'progress' is. you wrongly assume that those 11 people don't have jobs. what you don't consider is that they may be doing work that they couldn't do before because they had to work as mechanics. there's some new emerging technology that they're now involved in. they couldn't be involved in the new technology unless they were freed up by the advancing technology at the unilever plant. unfortunately, neither the mechanic nor you understand this.

Add to this the number of manufacture plants going where they can get the lowest labor cost (fringes and wages) outside the US we have a major problem.

the only major problems are government taxes, regulations and unions..

The answer is that I don't have to do anything with them. Now what they can do it move back into extended family homes. If no family group together with others and the problem is solved.

Ask this loser. He has the answer. He has all the answers when he plays both sides:

" That is your problem!!! If you can not take care of your own family don't ask me to take care of your family or the poor and needy. That is their problem. I want mine and what I have earned as a Capitalist. You and your position are Socialistic and Commie!!!"

or ask this rich guy:

"There is no reason to worrying about it now. Personally, I have the financial resource to live....... Let's wait an see what happens!!!"
