He is the People's president and the Rs status as a minority party is increasing. Its unlikely the Rs will win in 2012. In fact, I think their behavior over the past month may mean they lose the House.

Rarely does a president not win a second term

O is very vulnerable. It depends on:

1. The economy going forward (Jobs)
2. The economy and jobs
3. The economy and jobs
4. The economy and jobs
5. Who the Repubs nominate ( the R base is very motivated to ensure that O does not have a 2nd term)
6. How dedicated and active O's base is.

Neil, keep an eye on Obama's cash trove including the amount he has already raised this time. It was the Supreme Court's ruling which unleashed unlimited third party funds to help the Republicans recapture the House in 2010. In 2012, funds will continue to be a major factor. Obama and the Democrats combined lead in that area.

Jobs and the economy will be one of the many issues. However, the independents who have not lost their clarity of thought due to being non partisan are already saying that the alternative to Obama is not that appealing for them.

Just my two cents not "talking points."
