There would be no deficit if we reduced federal government spending to 2005 or 2006 levels.

That's nominal total spending, if you want real-per capita spending, then we would have to go all the way back to those days of anarchy in 1999 or 2000...

BTW we no longer have a spending problem. Its now 100% a revenue problem.
