"I was forgiving about not getting out of Iraq faster, I was forgiving about the build in Afghanistan (which is going nowhere). The health care deal in my humble opinion was good work, a little weak, but better than anyone else has done. But extending the tax cuts... that was a last straw" Pretty much my story, too, with the addition of the stim plan. I thought it too small and it should not have contained tax cuts, which are some of the the worst bang for the buck stim programs. However, I defended it on pragmatic grounds by saying, "Boy, was that a dumb thing to do, but it was the best he could get." It was B4 I figured out it was the best cuz he gave up too much B4 he started, negotiated downhill from there, and then never fought for it. It wasn't like he asked for 1.5T without tax cuts, and compromised. That realization happened during the HC fight. The tax cut thing made me sick. "Coy is not attractive in the most powerful man in the world." Yup yup..."I welcome their hatred.."

But extending the tax cuts... that was a last straw. That wasn't a little weak, that was major wimp. And still no revenue in this deal. One more time............and this is the last time, I will repeat it. At the time this issue came up.....the fall of 2010, neither a majority of the American people nor many Dem congressmen supported letting the tax cuts to the rich expire. He knew he couldn't get the votes in Congress so Obama went to his fall back position.......he extended unemployment benefits which allowed billions of dollars to remain in the economy as well as stimulate the economy and he set up a payroll tax holiday in order to encourage job formation. He did the best he could under the circumstances. I don't know how you all think you could have done better. Once again, I think there is the expectation he is the Magic Negro......unfortunately, he is not......instead he is a man just like you and I.
