The vitriol and angst on the left makes me think that the final deal was probably not too bad, and indeed the best that could have been obtained, given who controls the Senate and the Presidency. They are crying louder than our side, for sure. I like the bit about the "sugar-coated Satan sandwich". A nice bit of rhetorical panache. It just goes to confirm that Obama is a lousy negotiator who has a knack for "lunging for the sour spot", as Walter Russell Mead says, where he pisses off everybody.
