I presume that after six months Defence spending will undergo the "automatic cuts" that is in the bill. And that will be a big revenue/savings.

On the other hand he could have insisted on something like military and entitlement streamlining.

Uh, he and Boner had worked that out, along with some modest revenue increases. But since Grover Norquist runs the US House of Representatives it was a no go. Even though it went twice as far in reducing the deficit.

I guess we'll have to wait til Grover passes to get a balanced budget.
