Turn out in congressional elections is far lower than presidential votes cast, there isnt a single sitting member of congress whose electoral race exceeded 45% of the voting age electorate (thats the combined demo repub votes cast ). Most, and it has been some time since i did these calculations, show that the entire votes cast to seat a congressmen or senator comes in at under 40% of the electorate, which more aptly coincides with the 25% approval rating. Congressional seats are even lower turnout.

All the malfeasance which follows, is directly related to the slight of hand of NOT counting the Abstainers in elections. Voters run with thier win, all the way through the cycle, every win has been a sham on the rest of the electorate.

do the math...you'll see.

The repubs caved. You know it, the thread knows it, the market is getting it. More spending until the election and even if the repub wins, they wont be inclined to cut spending on their watch. We need a hero. Hero? the one that can actually do the job is going to get reviled, tarred and feathered by everyone, including thier own party. 10 years from now those same people will be renaming states for him/her. sorry I just dont see a hero that can win.
