I am not so sure. Dems have real problems understanding simple financial matters. They really have no idea what borrowing or debt means. We had a quote today from a congressional congressman that sort of encapsulates Dem thinking in fiscal matters:

...an angry [Congressman Mike] Doyle [D-Pa.] said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money."

“Impossible to spend any money?” This fiscal year, the federal government is spending $3.8 trillion.




Obama himself claimed, "the lowest level of annual domestic spending since Dwight Eisenhower was president." - which is completely insane by any metric except discretionary spending.
