Revenue is separate from expenditures. 2 differing animals - Regardless of taxes off the table it does not affect the need to prioritize the expenditures.

Obama can just let his tax cuts expire in a year or so if he wants more revenue, but this is mostly going to affect the middle class. There is going to need to be major tax reform/changes if you really want to pry extra cash from the big time rich. They have it all sheltered from the hungry Uncle Sam.

The country will also need to have a better dialogue on prioritizing our expenditures.
After all this is what corps and families do when they have debt issues.


It seems we just did that. If you can call it "dialogue". Difficult to have dialogue when one side takes 50% of the discussion off the table (revenue).
