Paul,

I saw my AMD friend tonight and he said that their "window (of opportunity) is closing."

He said that their problems haven't been solved yet and if they haven't when the board meets in December, the s*** will hit the fan. I'm paraphrasing but you get the idea.

He still says that the probem IS a production problem and NOT a demand problem.

He wasn't a happy camper.

I suggested that a buyout might be a good alternative. He didn't disagree and we agreed that IBM would be a good possibility. He also mentioned "the Koreans" but he didn't seem to like that idea.

FWIW.

Barry

Paul, >>>There is a battle brewing between the Windows CE hand helds (almost exclusively non-Intel) and these new mini notebooks from Toshiba (Libretto), Mitsubishi and now Sony - which all run REAL WINDOWS!<<<

What is it about Brian Halla's all in one PC on a chip that Intel objects to. It seems like it would be in Intel's interest to develop one and expand it's market. It seems Like Intel has the high-end (large systems) and IT market nailed, but in the low-end (smaller device) market, the door is still open.

Paul and All: (Off topic) Who makes VRAM (The old-fashioned VRAM, not SGRAM) chips currently?

Sorry for off-topic query, but I urgently need some VRAM info and my printed literature is out of date.

Thanks,
Al Seim
