Michel,

I think you're right in saying that money is gone come from sources others than Intel. TI and other DSP leaders (IBM,...) are one, but if you follow the Comdex it's seems that there is a comeback of color printer.

As you know color stuf need a lot of memory (RAM or hard disk)and RAM is faster. Add to this the coming of digital photography. So IMHO this will be a huge market.

I could extrapolate to say that a lot of digital pictures will travel on the Net (I'll send this picture to Mom...) and that switches and routers too will need more capacity and memory.

So recapitulate, we will have PC, DSP devices, printers and telecom devices. Did I forget something ? Oh yes, in fifteen years from now DOJ will accuse Rambus to dominate memory market in a Microsoft-like case...

Good day everybody...

I visited in RMBS meeting room, they are very nice people. They had 3 RDRAM modules stoled from their demo machines? And a CPU. The replacements arived as I got there.

They are very confident and happy that they have 13 suppliers signed up.

I was told that INTEL has a 100mhz bus chipset coming out in 1998 (code named "Camino") that will be able to use RDRAM. They said this was announced but I have search the intel site and haven't been able to confirm yet. The Merced is slated for later release. This chipset will alow you to use RDRAM w/ any cpu.

I will be visiting again if anyone has questions they would like for me to ask...They said they are making money.

I will be checking in via Novell's T1 Comdex terminals....
