Roger or anyone else,

I started reading The Intelligent Investor by Graham this last weekend. (I must say his insight is quite amazing.)

A question has occurred to me, can the stock market on whole grow any faster than the growth of the US' GDP, over time? If it can how? Has it ever?

If it cannot, is the current market becoming a Ponzzi scheme? This last question is something that has bothered me for a long time, but until reading Graham, I could not enunciate it. Any comments would be appreciated.

Roger,

I know this is not a big blue chip stock, but with Avon reporting lower earnings today and blaming it on SE Asia and other parts of the world is a concern of mine! If they can't sell their product how can the bigger ticket items be selling! All goes back to my belief that we could very well be going into a world wide slow down which will cause us to go into a bear market! I'm not sure Avon is telling the truth about everything or they may just need an excuss and blaming it on world wide problems! Just some thoughts!
