I was listening to the radio yesterday and an ad came on. It was a man talking with a child about a new healthy food program called "CalFresh". The man explained to the child that CalFresh was the new name for food stamps. The child in the commercial was excited about the program to get healthy food.

But my question is: why the hell are we advertising entitlement programs. First, it costs money to advertise. Second, shouldn't we make people looking for handouts work a bit to find them and get them? When the government is giving handouts, it should be a pain in the ass to get them. But now they can do it all online.

calfresh.ca.gov

and talk about putting lipstick on a pig. "Cal Fresh"....just call it what it is "food stamps". What are we trying to do? make people feel good about being dependent on the state?
