richard- boy, you really misunderstood me. the announcement yesterday was from the division of GTE that is the CLEC. it has NO local lines under its control. i think that the ILEC division will also go with WSTL. i think that they are not yet ready to announce, but WSTL was getting a little antsy so GTE management said,"here, will announce this. that should tide you over until we make the big announcement." do i think GTE is going to use someone else? not at all. IMHO, we are just going to have to wait until the big one is announced. the stock seems to be trading in line with sector and the overall market, which is positive. for a long time, the market went straight up, while we went no where or down. also, i think the market makers are playing with the stock. a lot of people own NOV 20 calls on WSTL, and a lot of MMs wrote the calls. they want them to expire worthless. so, all we have to do is wait them out. good luck to all, trey
