I frankly think gold's resilience (so far) is telling. Gold hardly fell, in context of the recent ramp. I am curious about what happens to gold during Asia trade when I wake up. Reason says gold should ramp, but fear may dictate otherwise foolishly. At some stage gold must decouple from inverse relationship to dollar, else gold would not be gold. Let us estate the chant, "qe3 qe3 qe3", for that is one way the tea party anarchist can get what they wish for, namely - appearance of balanced budget, - no nominal tax rate increase, and - cut the real value debt. Of course, to complete the program, we need to have qe3 through qe666 done to us.
