MM Tesla decided many years ago to go with pure electric just based on the track record of improvements in battery technology and cost. Why waste time by adding an ICE to the package? With the rate of battery breakthroughs and cost reductions happening now in ever increasing rates it was a wise decision. Twenty years from now it will commonplace. All new technologies have high costs in the beginning but this is one that will do a lot for the environment in the long run vs fossil fuels which we all know pollute and are unsustainable in the long run because they are finite.
