Bookdon - When JMAR (hate to say that word here, as I know it annoys people) first developed their BriteLight laser tech. that is the foundation for their XRL, they hired a P-R firm to do "consumer research" among the chip and litho. companies in Silicon Valley. They asked, "If there were a laser that could do blah, blah, blah . . ."
would you be interested. (This was a blind survey, by the way.) ALL of the engineers who responded said, "That CAN'T BE DONE" . . . but
if it COULD be, they'd be interested. Well, JMAR has DONE IT. So when you say >>>>I know of no serious production people who believe that x-ray production devices are going to be made within the next five years.<<<<< you sound like one of those engineers.

I know of no serious production people who believe that x-ray production devices are going to be made within the next five years.

I agree that x-ray will be take 5-10 years before it is a viable machine for manufacturing use. Although one should not overlook possible breakthroughs that might shorten the time but you can't bank on a breakthrough happening.
