I suppose if we had the 4 billion deal that Obama asked instead of the 2 billion deal then S&P would have acted differently.

The real point is, there's too much money sloshing around on the planet, it needs a parking place, and whatever it's rated, US Treasuries are the only vehicle on offer capable of absorbing it, and safe enough to be used. The biggest real threat to that today is the Tea Party tail and the (R) dog they wag. THAT's what caused the market drop.

Where ELSE are they going to go?
