Some people are exhibitionists. And some people think they are obliged to "set an example". As long as they aren't the government, I don't care- but we'll put you down in the "offended" column. I assume you would do nothing, legally, to stop folks from public praying- you just feel it's rude and unnecessary - do I understand your position correctly?

....Prayer like sex is a personal thing and as soon as you bring it in the open others are offended....

It is also impious. I don't consider people who vociferously defend prayer in public as Christians. They've adopted the forms of Christianity, but they really are Dominionists.

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father who seeth in secret shall reward thee openly... Mathew 6:5-6

And that is the only time Jesus directly addressed the subject (except to teach the Lord's Prayer). Enough said....
