Some people are exhibitionists. And some people think they are obliged to "set an example". As long as they aren't the government, I don't care- but we'll put you down in the "offended" column. I assume you would do nothing, legally, to stop folks from public praying- you just feel it's rude and unnecessary - do I understand your position correctly?

I don't consider people who vociferously defend prayer in public as Christians. They've adopted the forms of Christianity, but they really are Dominionists.
