Agree on the "ease of use" with Easeus. I still alternate Acronis and Easeus on different externals just because I am paranoid, but the Easeus imaging takes about half the time of Acronis. I have been backing up my Outlook email files with Acronis regularly and for no obvious reason it now just hangs after running a few minutes. So much for Acronis email backup. Easeus does backup the Outlook files in the complete image, but they're just a little more difficult to find and restore if necessary.

Gottfried, I happy to read that you enjoy using EaseUS. I'm using it for a few months now and love it. It's simple to use and reliable. In fact, it send me an email when its finishes preforming a backup.

I created a clone of my C drive and have launched Win7 from the clone. It's like having a dual boot system.

And, as you know, it a free program with email tech support.

My problem is Windows 7 and the system partition and MBR.

I have NO issues with XP.

Will that program tell me what I need to back up / restore in Windows 7? Even Acronis tech support doesn't agree.
