You know, I am not really very fundamentally knowledgeable about the companies we discuss here, even the ones I own or have owned in the past.

I don't really care too much about anything other than does the company I am investing in have enough cash in the bank to survive the latest downturn and return to profitability when analysts are expecting very little from them in the future.

My take is that we have already passed the cyclical peak for earnings for most companies in this sector if not in the market overall. I could be wrong though. Plus whatever fall we get in the market could be limited.

After all, interest rates remain low, many semiconductor and semiconductor equipment are in much better shape financially than they were at the 2009 bottom. I have long been a believer that historical lows for the P/E on the S&P 500 are likely to be seen again before this bear market hits its final bottom.

But I will be looking at sentiment analysis and technical analysis before fundamental analysis anyway.

We have a nasty technical breakdown. Sentiment is bearish but not long term market bottom bearish enough for my liking. But personally I'm all for a big time sell off continuing.

Of course we will get what we get.
