This is an example of headlines making it look as though America is totally at fault China wants to control America's decisions. China is not without fault in this. Why and how did China become the holder of American debt---------American's, the people have a right and need to know.

Go to the end of the article--------Why is China where it is?--------------mj

in Canrong, dean of international relations at China's Renmin University, said Beijing is especially fearful of another global recession because leaders have exhausted stimulus measures to blunt the effects of the 2008 financial crisis.

"A second recession would be a nightmare for China," Jin said.

Massive credit expansion since 2008 has led to the country's highest rate of inflation in three years -- fueling a national property bubble and potentially sowing the seeds of social instability.

China's heavy reliance on U.S. debt and the dollar is largely self-induced because of its decision to shun market forces and control the value of its currency to keep Chinese exports competitively cheap.

China's central bank must jettison trillions of incoming foreign exchange to ensure the yuan remains low. For the most part, U.S. treasuries represent the only destination large enough to accommodate China's holdings. Officials have periodically pledged to diversify China's reserves, but few alternatives exist.

Outside of how sad it is that a socialist country has to tell us to be fiscally responsible, one old saying comes to mind:

"when you owe the bank $10,000, they've got you by the balls, when you owe the bank $4.4 trillion, you've got them by the balls"

Not that I would ever advocate defaulting on debt, you can assume that I would flip the bird at china when they tell me to decrease defense spending.

China demands U.S. 'live within its means'

I agree, however, the U.S. should demand immediate and total crackdowns on all Chinese producers of stolen intellectual property. The U.S. should also demand massive cleanups of China's polluted rivers and block all agricultural imports of produce that are irrigated with those polluted waters.

We could also demand plenty on the human rights front but that would be never ending. And about their obsession with sex....more than 7 million new Chinese every year....they need to look in the mirror as they complain about the U.S.
