Mid-80's Japanese were lecturing the US in low consumption. They suggested minimize the nr of credit cards an American individual would own. The same consumption that enabled Japan to export its way out of poverty and acquired their foreign reserves. The Chinese financial echelons were not reading the press while they were following the Japan route in the 80s.

Aw c'mon Hawk... corollary to that is that too many Americans are nothing but a bunch of junkies with no self control... is that what you think... That dog don't hunt...
