Heat Advisory Statement as of 11:43 am CDT on August 7, 2011
... Heat advisory remains in effect until 9 PM CDT Tuesday...

* event... afternoon heat indices will climb to 105 degrees or
higher through Tuesday evening. Overnight lows remain in the
upper 70s to lower 80s in rural areas and in the mid to upper
80s in urban areas.

* Timing... high heat index readings are expected through Tuesday
evening.

* Impact... increased concern for heat related illness or death
due to persistent hot and humid conditions... especially for
those involved in outdoor activities... or are in
insufficiently cooled homes or buildings.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be sure to check on persons with health problems and the
elderly... as they are the most susceptible to heat exhaustion and
heat stroke. Never leave Young children or pets in an enclosed
vehicle... even for a short time... as temperatures can quickly
rise to life threatening levels.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency - call 911.

Here Comes the 'Freedom to Invest Act'

05 August 2011
Jesse's Cafe Americain

"As a general rule of thumb, any law in America that contains the word 'Freedom' or 'Patriot' in its title is brazenly promoting a crime, or a fraud, or some self serving corruption of the common good...."
