I have never known anyone to come back. And as far as I know, everyone who ever claimed to be able to contact the dead was a charlatan. I don't know what is so wrong with having a finite life span. We live, and then we die. Like every sparrow, and worm, and fish, and protozoa. I don't think we will be back, nor do I think our consciousness survives- and that is ok with me. What a spur to creativity the finite nature of our life is. It's the ultimate deadline. Without deadlines it gets hard to do things. You procrastinate- or many people do, maybe not you :-) On top of that, death clears the way for the young, who don't want to be choked by a cloud of spirits from the beginning of man onward. My mom knew a woman in to past lives. She always claimed to be fascinating people, never some impoverished serf laboring in a field for some feudal lord... Anyway, I may be among the minority, but I appreciate the existence of death, and I think it's fine that death is the true and final end. I don't find that all that horrible. And I've been very close to death, so it's not like I haven't been tested. It just didn't seem that horrible to me.
