Question: The Registry in Windows 7, is it similiar to that of Windows XP?

I found the following instructions for Windows XP.

Before making any changes to your Windows XP Services,
backup you current Services & their settings.
Click on Start, Run and type in regedit & hit Enter.
Expand to the following [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services]
Select File then Export and save that registry branch with a specified name.
Double click on this file, select Yes and these saved settings will be restored.
