"Very few of us have muslim, Kenyan fathers and muslim, Indonesian step-fathers who adopted us, or were raised as a muslim in Indonesian schools during our early years."

That is the first time that I have ever seen it put so clearly and concisely.

It's hard to argue "just like me" after reading that.

Thanks for the post

You have a very different definition of American from me. Does that me that I am not an American, too?

Your reasoning is from outer space.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in Austria. Does that make him unamerican and a closet nazi sympathizer?

At the risk of a flame war here. 8)

I want to say I don't agree.

I think he's just as American as GW Bush, Condi Rice, Jerry Brown or Barney Frank.... you just don't agree with his politics. He's probably not as much a "real American" as Sitting Bull was....

I much prefer seeing people argue merits of positions rather than whether or not the opposition is a "real American." After all, most "real Americans" were killed as the white settlers moved from the East Coast towards our favorite "commie" state of Kalifornia.

So, not being identifiable as a person of European ancestry and background makes someone not a "Real American", and thus being a traitor as well? GTFO, at least the president has never stated his allegiance to another country as above that to the U.S., as for example Eric Cantor has with Israel.

Read what you wrote, do you really mean to engage in such self-caricature, why do you choose to live in a cartoon?

What do you mean by "us", paleface?

<points to him being philosophically un-American> Actually, as a nation of immigrants from diverse backgrounds, your comments paint you as being ' philosophically un-American'. We would all be better off if you went back to where you came from as you are obviously not fit to be an American.
