We used to spend a lot of time in Seattle, at all sorts of locations.....We loved Pioneer Square, especially in the 60's-90's....Many of our old haunts aren't there any longer, sadly...Umberto's for instance...orthe wonderful kitchen shop, and Cuttysark, and now even the bookstore is gone....We spent LOTS of time in the old Storey's bookstore too (was up near the Pike Place market) and of course, loved snooping around the market to see all sorts of interesting things. Lack of parking, and expense of it if you can find it, is part of the problem there....so, since there isn't much we NEED, we tend not to go...

There still are the "old timey tavs" there...some of them are wonderful....The one in Portland is a "new time tavern"....and yet still has charm and is clean...

We're talking about heading up to Vancouver or Victoria one of these days....don't know if we'll actually do it, but we love both places as well...
