I suppose the US press has ignored it since it is preoccupied with the politics of debt and downgrade. Hats off to the Israelis. When is question is survival they can come together. Wonder if it would take another 9/11 style attack to force Americans to come together.

The S&P downgrade occurred because the Congress failed to give the President what he wanted. Will they give it to him now?

We are in the midst of what is increasingly shaping up to be an Israeli revolution. Following decades in which the public has curled up in its indifference and allowed a handful of politicians to run the country as they wished, with no significant involvement from civil society, the rules of the political game have changed.

Its about time. Netanyahu and his Likud cronies are as toxic as they come. I have not understood why the Israelis have been asleep for so long.
