I'm busier than a cranberry merchant at Thanksgiving, but I read your story and viewed your pics. Cali mts are so different than Wa mts. I'll have to post some pics when I get a chance later on. A couple of questions: Do you pack a thermarest and why doesn't jr ever go along on your hikes? We used to take our kids on long, overnight hikes all the time.
