Obama has a very convoluted way of working towards consensus. He needs to realize that he can only negotiate with those who want to do so. Boehner learned that lesson very quickly. I would try Hillary before I would try a "more of the same" Republicans. The Republicans could not rule the country as evidenced by Bush running up the spending and putting the country back into the red. Neither could they be a effective opposition as evidenced by this downgrade after the Teaper Congressmen came to office. I am not so much against the Republicans as I am against the fascist Teapers. But since the Teapers are clinging onto the Republican party and the party refuses to throw them under the bus, they have to pay the price. With a Trillion dollars in market value lost today, I h ope the outrage against those who caused this continues to build.
