A couple of things..........first, it took Asia to turn us. To me that's very sad. It used to be that US markets led the world out of a morass. Secondly, we have a serious, serious, serious problem in DC. The fact that we can't even disagree on this thread and come to a satisfactory conclusion is a smaller version of what's happening in DC. No matter what Obama does, his base ain't happy. And no matter what the Rs do, their base is not happy. DC is dysfunctional because we are. So then, how does the country progress in terms of economics, in terms of infrastructure, in terms of reducing its debt, etc if we are constantly fighting with each other? I don't have the answer to that. So is it a dead cat bounce? Shouldn't be..........I don't think we are going into recession. However, there are things that can be just as bad as a recession........like political dysfunction.
