Actually, there are more police on our local street and a cavalcade of police vehicles went racing by and another few other times. So there is obviously a generally heightened state of alert. But in general the villagers are quite relaxed and rioters would probably find some vigilante self-defence. Patience with barbarians lasts only a certain time before people reassert VVV in force.
