Thanks. I get the RSS but don't use it much. I read this and Don's boards so usually always find your great charts.

I wish etch' would honor the forum desire to not be political. He sometimes posts good stuff so it would be a shame if he was banned.

"There are AMAT boards on ihub and on MF and they are nearly dead, also. Maybe a reflection of the stock's non-performance."

Indeed. I've taken note and used recent market weakness to finally start adding again. That HUGE AMAT premium is pretty much a distant memory.... I think it was 15 years since I last bought so much.

HI kirk and G,

I think AMAT is going to be a much better and more stable company now that they have purchased Varian.

They had to pay a lot of money for it - but Varian was the Benchmark ion implant equipment maker.

Etch has a good technical input.

This is still a good thread to read.

Just look at all the fine people who post here.<smile>

When/IF tech ever leads in the market again this stock and Intel will be off first.

Intel just filled the gap from way back in April.

This may be the final shake before this sector gets the respect it should.

Sector is full of fortress balance sheets.

Not to be political - but look at all of the sovereign debt problems.

Some day solid balance sheets and dividends will get back in vogue.

I think all of the unsettled markets point us to solid balance sheets and stocks that pay dividends.

Isn't that investing vs speculating?
