Yes they could. They could request the fricken newspaper reporters to cancel the helicopter flights that are above the cities continuously. Donate the proceeds (many millions of GBP's) amongst the rioters. They will stop rioting almost immediately and go shopping at the mall the next day. This will initiate an avalanche of consumer spending and save Ben Bernankis butt and the world as we know it.

Is that too much to ask? -g-
