Robert, You can only trade some BB stocks online with Ameritrade. Their online system doesn't "know" all the BB stock symbols. On those I've wanted to trade, I have had to phone them to place the orders. This is not a big problem for me, but for you the phone call must be quite expensive. And sometimes there is a long wait on their phone lines. Brown & Co only has a rudimentary online service. It's through an 800 phone number, not on the internet. But Waterhouse has a very good online servie and you can get free real time quotes based on the number of trades you have, and you can trade all BB stocks online -- but you can't get BB stock quotes on the site. Waterhouse also offers a lot of research info, free, on their main site. Their commissions are low as long as you don't trade more than 5000 shares in one trade.
