Kirk asked: "Was he "all in" before that? 50:50? 100% cash? How do you know he wasn't calling "All In" just like he did in 2007 at the very top with a gift horse followed by many more "all in" buys until he was finally right?"

I wondered that too, Kirk. We know that he took 5 separate "all in" buys in 2008-2009 while remaining fully invested.

I'd have to see some proof that he had actually raised cash back in 1982 before I would be impressed with one of his "all-in" calls.

If you listen to Moneytalk now, you would conclude that he had gone all-in at S&P 1030 in July 2009. That's a lie because he never raised any cash reserves to start with.

Was he "all in" before that?

As the newsletter started in late 1986, I am not aware of any published recommendations before that back to when he started his radio show on WMCA in Fall 1981. However, before the DOW 777 call, I distinctively remember he was recommending dollar-cost-averaging new money into the market. I don't remember him mentioning at long-term "timing model" prior to the inception of his newsletter either.

I don't understand how you personally specifically identify those who "will always drink the tainted Kool-Aid no matter..." How do you know for sure who these people are? How do you count them up to reach this conclusion you have? You're not implying that I drink this kool-Aid are you, because I only drink filtered water, coffee, and Almond Milk?
