Why would London have so many extra police hired..? That makes absolutely no sense. Do law firms keep 10 extra attorneys in a one man office , just in case they should some day get a large malpractice case? Of course not...

They didn't have enough police to handle the rioters in London and had to call in cops from the rest of the UK.

Spending has been pretty steady recently, after a huge climb. Employment has dropped slightly, but is still at a very high level, not at an austere level.

I guess having debacles like the real estate and wall street messes of 2008 isn't lesson enough for you conservatives.

Government contributed to them.
