Kal,

May I add to the Yugo analogy that the Yugo was primarily a Yugoslavian Fiat. As I recall the Yugo design was based almost solely on a "popular"(read inexpensive) Fiat model and the parts were actually interchangable with the original Fiat vehicle.

Since MSFT's primary O/S, DOS, was based on an acquired technology and that all subsequent Windows environments are essentially DOS shells, that the analogy is more solid that originally believed. And furthermore given Bill Gates fears of "Balkanization" I see the roots of a great SUNW marketing campaign.... :0)

One glaring problem though, first SUNW has to develop a effective marketing plan for the products that they already have. Sadly lacking in my view.

Regards,

Ron
