Everyone's experience is uniquely personal to them. That's why the tiny speakers on these portable devices matter little in the marketplace. One person might use them for music. Another would sneer at even the best quality sound that can be reproduced in this size. There is no consensus of demand for better, yet still not quite good sound, from tiny speakers.

It's really just associative marketing. Reminds me of the yogurt commercial that plays like a travelogue. "Now we're off to try [brand name] yogurt in Paris." Who cares about Paris yogurt! It's just yogurt.

Who cares if Dr. Dre lends his unexceptional brand to the product! It's still just tiny, tinny sounding speakers.
