The original idea behind journalism, reporting, the press corps, and the news was for journalists and reporters to impartially report happenings as though they were observing the events, silently and impartially, as though from the perspective of a fly on the wall. Today, "journalists" and "reporters" are actually political hacks and pundits who were hired by mass media moguls to appeal the political tastes of their sponsors. They endeavor to become part of the stories that they cover. Since a carefree, liberal-arts-type approach can be employed to appeal to the commerce views of many consumers who are likely to succumb to advertising tactics, a definitive, liberal slant to the news and the mass media is quite obvious. Liberals are very weak-minded and very susceptible to the power of suggestion in advertisements.
