It's middle of August, we face 2nd half of August and whole of September. Why are you in a rush to call a bottom? It may be but it is very unlikely.

Basic macro issues that are creating this flight out of the market are still very much unresolved. European financial crisis and our lingering slow growth. Why would we have a rally here? We can have few good days after a steep sell off but nothing sustainable.

Valuations are compelling? INTC paying 4.2% and cannot catch a bid? Something is clearly out of sync, counting on valuations is the wrong way to look at the market.

There is only one scenario that can produce rally. Euros agree to buy governments paper and Ben announcing QE3. Powers that be will push markets lower until that happens, it is in their interest, it is unavoidable.

Need to be patient here, things will only get cheaper for the next month or two.
