You don't understand Z.....The US Government KILLED ALL types of other available medical insurance coverage for people who were no longer working, when they came out with Medicare. PLUS they took money from our paychecks, and the same amount of money from our Employer for it to pay for the premiums....Now that only covers hospital cost;....and as we all know, they DON'T keep anyone in the hospital to recover....those folks are sent home to be taken care of family who generally don't have any type of medical training whatsoever. Part B Medicare insurance is optional, but has to be paid by the individual..... How many people opt out of Part B...???? who then pays the Doctors and other specialists when people are ill....?? THEN because Medicare either part covers 80% of "allowable charges" The remaining part is to be borne by the individual, or paid for by an ADDITIONAL medigap insurance plan.... All of that, and IF Medicare doesn't allow a necessary procedure....the indivdual pays for that too.... AND THEN THERE is the Drug situation..... Since Government got involved with something that was in the hands of the private companies, the entire thing has exploded cost wise..... And in the meantime, find some other type of insurance that can cover people 65 or older.....I'm waiting to see what that might be.....Plus not all states will allow every company in to serve the citizens of the states....
